Alaina froze, realizing she had never actually mentioned her cold war with Silas to Michelle.

Michelle rested her chin in her hands, her eyes narrowing into a sly smile. "Don't even try to deny it. When two people are fighting, there's a certain tension in the air. Just like when a woman is in love, she gives off a completely different vibe."

Alaina looked down and smiled softly; the answer was obvious.

"Look at you, glowing like a newlywed but looking completely sleep-deprived. Was it a fierce battle last night?" Michelle teased, going straight for the kill.

Alaina's eyes widened in panic. She nervously glanced at the slightly open office door. "You're a young woman! How can you just say things like that out loud?"
