Chapter 46 Vanessa POV Stacey and I were in the secret room for hours . We played cards and talked . She told me about Alfred's curse . His wolf would take over if he did not find his true mate . I'm his true mate , and his curse should be broken . That would explain why he has not shifted . Most alphas needed to shift regularly , or their wolves were more than mean . That would explain why he was so cranky all the time . Also , why he had a reputation for being cruel ? We then played some board games . I looked at the clock , and it was one o'clock . The day has gone by fast .

I am glad that I'm not stuck in this room by myself . Stacey made us some lunch and again cleaned up after we were done . We played more board games , and she prepared to make dinner . Finally , after eating dinner , I took a shower while she cleaned up after dinner . Now that nobody was trying to drown me while I took a shower , I enjoyed it . It started to get late , and I decided to go to bed . It didn't seem like I was asleep for long when Alfred came and got us . He gently woke me up .

On the way up the stairs , I could hear them talking about tonight being the night he would find out if his curse was broken . He had told them he did not want a ceremony if it went wrong . I had a feeling that everything was going to go great . If he broke my curse , I knew I had broken his . Everyone was there when we got upstairs . I knew I had not been presented to the pack yet . But a lot of them bowed their heads in respect . I nodded my head in response . We all went out to the front part of the house . The whole pack was there . There were also people from other packs .

I know that they are all waiting for this shift . This could be his last shift to human form . He walked over to me and kissed me . " Little one , if this doesn't turn out well , you must go back to the palace with my family . " " I will do what you ask , but I don't think that will be an issue . " He then jumped into the air and shifted into his wolf . The clock struck midnight . Then , as if an invisible force hit him in the stomach , he was back into human form . Everyone cheered . I guess him being forcibly shifted back to human was a good thing .

Then , his mother approached him and handed him a towel to cover himself . He then shifted back to wolf and back again . Everyone cheered . I was so glad . I ran to him , wrapped my arms around him , and kissed him . You did it , little one ; you broke my curse . " " I love you so much . " " I love you too . " Then I went inside and took another shower . I asked Mac to make his favorite dinner for him and to also make a cake for him . I can bake but not do the icing . I always had trouble with that . He agreed . I then went to our room and got ready to take a shower .
