David pov.

Meeting the vampire king was nerve wrecking. He wrapped Carol is a warm hug as soon as he saw her and placed a loving k**s on her forehead. But when his eyes landed on me, he glared dangerously. For a split second, I thought his green orbs changed red. He narrowed his eyes as he took menacing steps towards me. He bent down and sniffed the air around means tilted his head.

“You sure seem to be a human. But why do I feel that I have seen you some where?” he hissed.

I gulped. He must have noticed me when he met my father in a conference years ago. I had attended the conference for the mystical leaders which is held every ten years. That conference was supposed to create a good connection between the mystical kingdoms so that all of us could live together in harmony. And we all did live in harmony for centuries, until Carol’s father declared war on us. I know there must be a good reason behind it. Perhaps I will find out why soon enough.

Carol’s father circled around me, with a frown on his face. The fact that a powerful vampire king was testing me was intimidating. I slowly started to feel anxious. Goosebumps started to crawl on my skin as his eyes scanned my face. He was trying to remember where he had seen me. I smiled weakly at him. I just hope that he lets it go. He saw me seven years ago and I was a kid when he saw me in the conference.
