Chapter 503: Back in her room, Gracie frantically searched through the bedside drawer for any medicine but found no trace of sleeping pills for Waylon. So what exactly did Waylon's words mean? That evening, Gracie kept a close watch on Waylon. She observed him from dinner time to when they retired for the night, yet he never took any sleeping pills. As Gracie was about to leave the room, Waylon instinctively grabbed her wrist - his usual pre-sleep routine. Her eyes widened with the realization.

She had thought Waylon's grasp was to keep her from harming him, but now it appeared that she was indeed his "sleeping pill," just as Darian had hinted that she should stay by Waylon's side. She came to see that his affections might have been dramatic. His apparent jealousy and possessiveness - could they have been just her misconceptions? Heartbroken, she realized that she had devoted her heart to someone who had merely been exploiting her. A lone tear rolled down her cheek, soaking into the pillow below. The next day, Norene took Gracie to the seaside. "Take a look at this ocean.

Isn't it breathtaking?" "What do you want?" Gracie's voice was cold. Norene bent down, picked up a smooth pebble, and hurled it into the waves. It vanished, leaving no trace. "What are your thoughts about my earlier proposal?" : gⲁν⧿ⅽ Gracie's brows knitted slightly as she looked at Norene. "Don't we still have two days left for that?" Norene replied, "I thought I'd help you make up your mind." Before Gracie could decipher her cryptic words, Norene was already striding toward the water. Water quickly swallowed her shoes, crept up to her knees, and finally reached her waist.

"Norene, have you lost your mind?" Gracie shouted. Without waiting for an answer, she plunged into the water to stop Norene. Paulina's whereabouts were still a mystery. This wasn't the time for Norene to go playing with death. The icy water clawed at Gracie's legs, but she pushed forward, her resolve as unyielding as the tide. Finally, she reached Norene and grabbed her arm, forcing her to stop. By then, the waves had climbed to their chests. "What are you trying to pull, Norene?" Gracie demanded. Norene's lips curled into a sly smile as her eyes flicked toward the shore. Someone was coming.

"You'll find out soon enough." Before Gracie could respond, Norene tipped backward and screamed for help. Stunned into inaction for a moment, Gracie stared as the waves carried Norene away. Then instinct kicked in, and she lunged forward, fighting the pull of the sea. Just as she was about to reach Norene, a figure cut through the water, reaching her first. Gracie froze mid-stroke, her breath catching when she saw his face as her legs began to cramp. "Waylon..." . . .
