Chapter 244: "I've got it, thanks," Gracie said, hastily grabbing the napkin to cover her confusion. Her heartbeat quickened unexpectedly. This was new; Waylon's behavior had changed lately. Why did he seem so different now? "Waylon, we're already here in Chago. How about we go strolling together?" After a brief pause, Waylon agreed with a nod. The streets buzzed with life, each stall a visual delight. One lane was lined with food vendors, another with booths selling crafts and trinkets.

Despite feeling full, the delicious smells wafting through the air were too tempting for Gracie to resist. "Waylon, would you like some?" she inquired. Waylon raised an eyebrow and declined. "Can I get two tacos and two hot dogs, please?" Gracie placed her order. Food in hand, she turned to find that Waylon had moved ahead, and she hurried to catch up. "Try a bite, Waylon. Despite his earlier protests about not eating, he hadn't saved any for her. She regretted not buying extra. At that moment, something else caught Gracie's eye. "Look, Waylon! There's a balloon-popping game over there. It looks fun! Let's try winning some prizes." Without waiting for a response, Gracie took his hand and led him toward the stall.

"That pink pig plushie is adorable!" she exclaimed, spotting it in the prize area. "You can shoot at balloons to win it. It's one dollar for five bullets, and each hit scores you a point. Score eighty points in a row, and the biggest plushie is yours!" the stall owner chimed in cheerfully. "Earn eighty points for that plushie? I think I'd rather not," Gracie said, pulling Waylon away. But he stood firm. "Why not take a shot?" he asked. . . .
