Chapter 13 Chapter 13 Rose's POV Howling - I was actually howling! Standing in wolf form on this incredible overlook, singing to the moon. My brain was spinning trying to process it all. When the sound faded, I tried to see myself. Way steadier on four legs now, I twisted around curiously. A huffing noise made me look over - Dante's wolf was definitely laughing at me. His sand-colored coat was just as gorgeous as his human form. He trotted over, jerking his head toward a path down to the river.

I followed until we reached the still water that reflected like a perfect mirror. Holy shit. My reflection showed this incredible red wolf - same color as my hair with cream markings on my face, paws, and tail. Same green eyes. I was huge too, nearly as tall as Dante. I couldn't help bouncing with pure excitement. Dante seemed amused, but I didn't care. I was a wolf! After a few minutes, he nodded back toward the trail.

The peaceful walk through the forest was perfect, though I had no clue how to shift back. At the clearing, Dante shifted back and pulled on his shorts. He grabbed the blanket and draped it over me with a smile, understanding my confusion about what came next. 'Focus on being human - the feeling, the memories," Dante explained softly. Sounded simple enough. I closed my eyes, concentrating on my human form. The familiar tingles came, but gentler this time.

Next thing I knew, I was sprawled naked under the blanket, completely human again. 'Perfect. You're incredible at this," Dante grinned. That was… I can't even…" Words failed me completely. 'I know exactly what you mean." He handed over my clothes, turning away respectfully. My legs felt like jelly, but I managed to get dressed. I touched his shoulder when ready. "Thank you for staying with me through all that." 'Wouldn't have missed it," he said, meaning every word.

The walk back felt surreal - everything seemed more vivid, sounds clearer, scents stronger. Back at camp, Elena watched the now-quiet pups. Most were sleeping, a few still playing softly. Connor spotted us and practically launched himself over. "Rose! Tell me everything! Did you love it? Were you fast? You looked huge out there - probably an amazing hunter! Dad's teaching me to catch rabbits when I shift!" His enthusiasm was infectious. "Easy there, buddy.
