Islinda sputtered and coughed after they were done feeding her the wine, pushing away from the Faes who held her captive, glaring at them fiercely. How dare they treat her this way?

Although the wine didn’t taste so bad, they shouldn’t have forced it on her. Unfortunately, Islinda realized dreadfully, that she was the only human here, the only prey among predators. Yes, she brought it upon herself.

Glaring at Aldric, who looked at her strangely, she noticed a look of anticipation on his face, as if he was waiting for something to happen. At this point, she couldn’t tell if Aldric was friend or foe. If Islinda had known this gathering would be this creepy, she wouldn’t have... wait a minute.

It all happened so suddenly, but everything became clear to Islinda. The scenes around her seemed brighter, more focused, as if her vision had suddenly improved. A startled gasp escaped her lips, and she shook her head at the suddenness of it all. Perhaps it was just a trick of the eye. Yet, when she opened her eyes again, everything looked sharper, clearer. Islinda felt energized.

Was she drugged?
