Love You Like I Used To Forget It - Chapter 315

Chapter 315 Chapter 315 Oddly enough, I calmed down and was no longer overwhelmed by panic. Maybe it was because I had racked my brains, but I still couldn't find a way to prove my innocence. Perhaps it was also because i had reached an absolute dead end and had no way forward. Or maybe it was because I realized this was already the worst-case scenario. When my lawyer came to see me, I gave him someone's contact information and asked him to get in touch. It was a road I wasn't willing to take, but if it came down to it, I would have no choice but to do so. Early next morning, I had a visitor.

I thought it was Irvin, but unexpectedly, it was William. In all honesty, William was frighteningly perceptive. I hadn't said a thing when he entered, yet with just one glance, he already knew what I was thinking. "Didn't expect it was me instead of your beloved ex-husband, did you?" he said. I sat there dumbly in a detainee uniform. William clicked his tongue after taking in my appearance. "I told you to be cautious of the Hardwells, and this is how you do it?

You've just fixed your ex-husband's legs, and they've already discarded you because you're not of use to them anymore and in such a humiliating way, no less. "You're a brilliant scientist and researcher-an absolute genius even. But you're leagues away from Grace when it comes to conniving schemes," he chastised. Even William had to admit he was impressed at how terrifyingly meticulous Grace was. I remained silent the entire time as I didn't know what to say. It was true. I was outmatched when it came to scheming and plotting.

I couldn't even win against Julianne, let alone Grace, who was on an entirely different level. William looked like he wanted to admonish me more, but he held his tongue when he saw my pale complexion. Instead, he changed the subject. "I've been filled in on what happened and also reviewed the Rudfords' home's surveillance footage. Frankly, there's no evidence to prove you didn't push Grace during the part. So, I hope you're not hoping to find proof of this in order to get released because that's almost impossible," William plainly stated.

After thoroughly going through the surveillance footage, he was sure there was no way we could produce evidence to prove my innocence. Grace had flawlessly set me up. After a pensive moment, I suggested, "Then, what about going at this from another angle? I have a feeling something might have already been wrong with Grace's unborn son." It just didn't make sense that Grace would use the child in her belly to frame me. No matter how much she hated me, I wasn't worth sacrificing her child and life.
