Chapter 34 At that moment, I caught my reflection in his eyes. Gathering my courage, I stepped forward. I managed to kick those people a few times, but my legs were so weak that the kicks barely made an impact. Lucian chuckled and remarked, "That was barely a tap, you know. Then, he stepped hard on the thug's waist and abdomen, The impact was so intense that the thug instantly collapsed, unconscious. I heard my heart pounding loudly, as if it would leap out of my they I felt a flutter in my heart. It was a secret emotion, a subtle yet undeniable attraction.

I remembered Lucian had been really thoughtful and considerate towards me before. Everything had changed since Ayla arrived. I closed my eyes, controlling my complicated feelings. When I opened them, my gaze was calm. I leaned on the wall, struggling to stand. Hobbling, I moved towards the pervert, lifting my leg and using all my strength to stamp on him. As he screamed, my leg gave out, and I collapsed. This time, I was caught by an arm from behind, pulling me into an embrace and lifting me. I was too exhausted to resist. Lucian carried me to his car by the roadside.

He stood by the car and immediately ordered his warriors to come. They arrived swiftly. He left that pervert to his warriors and left. It was already late at night. I was about to go back home myself when Lucian's car pulled up in front of me. He said without emotions in his voice, "Get in." 'You don't have to drive me home." I stood still. Lucian's face turned dark a bit. "Are you sure? Because I won't hesitate to make you get in the car if I have to." My heart pounded as the memory flooded back, a wave of terror washing over me. I didn't argue anymore.

I put my phone away, opened the car door, and got in. The moment I stepped inside, I heard a scoff. I stopped buckling my seatbelt and was about to get out when the car suddenly started, making me lose my balance and lean forward. I reached out to steady myself and quickly buckled the seatbelt. I turned my head, looked out the window, and stayed quiet. The Ravenswood Apartments was not far away from where we were. About ten minutes later, the car stopped. I got out and went upstairs without looking back. When I got home, I felt weak and fell onto the sofa.

After lying there for a while, I got up to shower in the bedroom. I ignored the leg wound, cleaned up, and lay on the bed. My nerves calmed, and I thought about the incident that happened today Even though I was safe now, the fear and despair still lingered. In my mind, the haunting memories refused to fade away. Whenever I closed my eyes, the scene came back. I got up and went to the dining table. On the table were the wine bottles Jace had bought for the celebration. Wine could help me sleep. I opened the wine bottle and poured a glass of wine for myself. I drank it all at once.
