9 Face-off Once Again Although this was her first time meeting her father, Lyra could sense how much Cyrus cared for her. He had been protecting her and was constantly mindful of her feelings. This was the kind of familial warmth and affection Lyra had never experienced before. "Lyra wants to take Daddy's surname," she declared hesitantly. "All the other kids have their fathers' surnames. They told me my father was dead, which is why my last name is Powell..." Her voice gradually faded as she spoke, seemingly afraid Cyrus might become angry.

"It's alright," Cyrus said, gently ruffling his daughter's hair with a smile. "They lied to you. Dad's perfectly fine, see?" "Yes!" Lyra nodded vigorously and exclaimed loudly, "Dad is wonderful! Lyra has a father now!" Seeing how quickly his daughter had accepted him, Cyrus felt a wave of relief wash over him. They soon arrived back in the old district. Chloe and Sarah had been waiting anxiously by the front door, and they finally relaxed when they saw Cyrus return. They saw Cyrus carrying a little girl from the passenger seat the next moment.

"Lyra, it must be Lyra!" Chloe exclaimed emotionally, urging desperately, "Quick, push me over there. I need to see my granddaughter." She cursed her inability to stand. Otherwise, she would have rushed over immediately to shower her granddaughter with kisses and hugs and lift her high in celebration. Ever since Cyrus had been imprisoned, Evelyn had barely maintained contact with the Wilder family. Even after giving birth, she hadn't allowed Chloe or Sarah even to glimpse the child. More accurately, she had forbidden them from visiting.

For five years, Chloe and Sarah had tried everything to see Lyra, but their efforts were futile. At most, they had only learned her name! "Cyrus, you've brought Lyra back to us," Sarah said joyfully as she pushed her mother's wheelchair closer to Lyra. Her loving eyes fixed adoringly on her little niece. "Lyra, this is your grandmother, and this is your aunt, Sarah," Cyrus introduced them gently. "Grandmother... Auntie Sarah..." Lyra responded shyly, hiding behind Cyrus while softly calling out to them. "Yes!" Chloe burst into tears of joy upon hearing her granddaughter call her grandmother.

She reached out her hand, hoping to hold Lyra's. Lyra hid behind Cyrus, watching the scene unfold. After a few seconds, she timidly stepped forward and reached out her tiny hand to grasp one of Chloe's fingers. "What a good child you are! Let's go home-we've prepared roast chicken and steak for Lyra," Chloe said, delighted. Just as the family of four prepared to leave, a black Maybach van suddenly appeared. Behind the black Maybach followed several cars of different colors-some worth around 100 thousand dollars, others worth 200 or 300 thousand dollars.
